3rd International Orthopaedic Nursing Conference

The Association of Maltese Orthopaedic Nurses will be holding its 3rd International Orthopaedic Nursing Conference on the 11th and 12th October, 2012.  This Conference will be held at the               Dolmen Resort Hotel ****  Qawra, in the sunny island of Malta.

AMON has already organized two International conferences in the past years which were attended by          delegates from 16 diffierent countries from around the world.
included prominent Nurse Leaders from USA, England, Canada, Sweden, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Turkey, Poland, Pakistan and Hong Kong amongst others.  See Photos

The name of this year's Conference is inspired by the Olymic games of 2012 and it is a call for all Orthopaedic Nurses to 'Go for Gold' in their practice and Leadership Roles.

Call for Abstracts

AMON invites Nurses and Allied Health Professionals to submit Abstracts for the 'Going for Gold' 3rd International Conference.  If you have a passion for achieving excellence and enjoy networking with people from different countries this is your opportunity to submit an Abstract and participate actively in an Orthopaedic Nursing Conference that has gained International reputation.

The Themes for this Conference are:

  • Patient focused care
  • Development of innovative Practice
  • Specialist and extended scope roles
  • Orthopaedic nursing research
  • Focus on Orthopaedic conditions
  • Collaborative international or multidisciplinary practice intiatives
  • Development of Leadership skills
  • Investing in the knowledge of Orthopaedic Nurses
Other themes
  • Orthopaedic or Leadership skills Workshops                                            
  • Panel discussion  - suggest a subject of debate
  • Making a difference
  • My Story, My Passion- individual experiences that change lives

Ideally your presentation should relate to one of the above themes although other areas will be considered.  Abstracts are also welcome from other professionals of the multi-disciplinary team.

Plenary Sessions
Plenary presentations are delived in the main conference hall to all conference delegates and will be of 30 minutes duration.

Concurrent Sessions
Concurrent Sessions are presented in smaller break-out rooms and are allocated a maximum of 25 minutes.

Poster Presentations
Poster presentations are visual displays of material that will be exhibited throughout the duration of the Conference.  Posters have the potential to reach all the delegates present and provide a means of sharing specific information or project outcomes you may wish to share.  Posters should not be bigger than 1 metre  X 1.5 metres.

Deadline for receipt of Abstracts is:  Tuesday 1st May, 2012.

The decision of the Scientific Committee to accept or reject submissions is final.
The scientific committee reserves the right to offer the appropriate mode of presentation to meet the overall needs of the conference.

All participants chosen to present papers must register and pay to be eligible to present their paper.

The Scientific Committee regrets that it is unable to meet any travel or subsistence expenses.

All accepted abstracts will be published in the conference programme once authors have registered for the conference.
